My aunt and uncle used to do the same many, many years ago. It was before the Indians laid claim to anything that even hinted at their past. Once thay (the Indians) declared it, my aunt and uncle offered to return what they'd found but becuase they were so honest and forthcoming about their findings, they were allowed to keep everything. The collection is so cool, I envy you your finds!

That is so interesting. I love stuff like that! When we go out to the cabin, I can't take my eyes off the ground when we are walking, hoping to find a piece of history. There are thousands of those rocks you can break and they have crystal inside. I have a huge pail full of them in my garage that my husband would rather I get rid of. I wonder now how many "rocks" I've looked at and thought - it's just a rock. :) I'm going to look closer now.
